Valhalla 2 Power Cable
Thanks to the application of Nordost’s latest Dual Mono-Filament technology the Valhalla 2 Power Cords set an unprecedented margin of performance over the competition.
The cable consists of 7 solid, silver-plated 16 AWG OFC conductors, each suspended in a Dual Mono-Filament matrix. The separate solid core conductors eliminate strand interaction, hot spots, and carbonization, which can occur in stranded cables.
Unlike conventional power cables, which have propagation speeds that are less than 50% the speed of light, the Valhalla 2 Reference Power Cord has a speed of 91% the speed of light. Extruded FEP insulation used in V2’s construction is superior to all other materials. It has very low signal loss and high thermal efficiency, causing it to dissipate heat quickly. The use of FEP in a Dual Mono-Filament construction means that power is transferred more effectively, while the low resistance of the cable keeps power loss extremely low. The result... truly superb sound quality.

Valhalla 2 - Reference Cables
Valhalla 2 is Nordost’s Reference range of high performance audio cables. These exemplary products benefit from three decades of research and development, resulting in cutting edge production techniques and technological innovations.
Like all Nordost cables, Valhalla 2 starts with a strong foundation: silver-plated, OFC solid core conductors, extruded FEP insulation, a mechanically tuned construction, and asymmetrical grounding. However, that is just the beginning. The advances made from that jumping-point are astounding.
V2 cables use Dual Mono-Filament technology, Nordost’s patented process of separating the conductor from its FEP insulation. During production, each conductor is intricately and uniformly wrapped in a twisted pair of FEP Mono-Filament, before being encased in an extruded layer of high quality FEP. This intricate process allows every conductor to be surrounded by its own air dielectric, which is directly responsible for the dramatic increase of signal speeds and excellent mechanical damping of the cable. This technology, along with innovative, proprietary HOLO:PLUG® connectors, designed to be the best possible interface between the cable and component, propels the capabilities of our reference range to previously unattainable levels.
Power Cables
Power cords are the most important cables in a hifi system, and so it is absolutely crucial to run your components with the best AC mains available. Nordost’s extensive line of power cords are purpose-built for audio, ensuring the reliable and stable transfer of current to your components. Nordost’s proprietary technology and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques assure optimally designed power cords, which are proven to reduce the harmful effects of EMI and RFI, resulting in a faster rise time in the 50/60 Hz cycle, and guaranteeing an audible improvement to any hifi sound system.

And what about the power cables? Here, the outcome of using the Valhalla 2 is truly prodigious. Everything instantly improved as a result of using this dynamically unconstrained cable. It was easy to detect that the Valhalla lowered the noise floor, and that the bass notes became more defined and stygian…the bennies were evident across the sonic spectrum, in ways both large and small.
